2011 Color of the Year

Benjamin Moore has selected Vintage Wine as the 2011 Color of the Year.  This deep plummy brown is gorgeous...plus what's not to like about a color named Vintage Wine!

I recommend numerous shades of Benjamin Moore paints everyday to my clients, but lately the colors I've been suggesting are oddly named after food items!  Could this be because I've started my "countdown-to-my-BIG-birthday-diet" and subconsciously I have food on the brain?!?  Who knows..... either way these are great colors, so I thought I would share them with you!

 Macadamia Nut # 191

 Frosted Toffee # 988

 Dried Basil # 522

 Caramel Apple # 1042

 Baked Pretzel #1126

Latte #2163-60

 Butter Pecan # OC-89

Rhubarb #2207-30

Don't you love this room painted in Rhubarb?

Be Daring With Color

Quadrille, a wonderful fabric showroom in the D&D building in New York, has a plethora of gorgeous fabrics.  Besides the Quadrille collection, they also feature Alan Campbell and China Seas.  Recently, I received this image via email and love their quote...

Their collection of fabric and wallpapers are a must see.  Here are a few rooms that showcase the collection.  And be sure to check out Quadrille's website to see a vast assortment of great patterns in fantastic colors!!

Banquettes

Banquettes are a great addition to a kitchen. They are perfect to incorporate in kitchens when space is tight, plus they provide a nice cozy place to start and end your day.  Whether traditional, modern or rustic, these banquettes have loads of charm!

Banquettes are not confined to dining areas....  I love this cozy nook tucked under the stairs!

For Hire

I've decided to hire a proofreader.  Apparently, I can't spell, type or read thoroughly prior to posting and undoubtedly there is always a mistake (thanks Maggie for catching the latest!) The job will entail proofreading my post prior to posting.  The pay will be......bottles of red wine!  Let me know if you are interested.  ;)

Head Over Heels for Headboards

I've been suggesting upholstered headboards (and beds) for a while now.  In addition to loving the look,  I like the notion that you can prop up in bed and lean against a soft surface. Here are a few headboard options that caught my eye.

Headboards are so easy to customize..... with so many choices of shapes and fabrics, the options are endless!
