Best Bunk Rooms

I came across this gorgeous bunk room designed by Tracy Hardenburg  and fell in love!! What a great use of space and I love the color palette as well.  Soothing colors and a mix of different textures makes this space feel light and airy considering there are sleeping accommodations for five!!  Take a look below at some other great bunk rooms, all of which are well appointed.

A Redesigned Valentine

I was out shopping for little valentine treats to send to my daughters who are away at college and everywhere I turned were bright red hearts! Around this time of year, red dominates the seasonal aisle of most retailers.  Maybe it was my mood, but I was looking for a softer, quieter and calming gift, but given my lack of time, I picked up a few bright red treats, rushed them to the post office and checked it off my to-do list!  But next year, maybe I'll redesign the holiday and make time to craft some homemade treats including some pink & gray hearts.  I find the subtle shades of pink and gray quite soothing. The color combination works well with interiors too. Take a look at the photos below, all of which I think are spectacular in a soothing, calming way!!!

Happy Home

I just stumbled upon this great space and had to share! The soft shades of aqua mix nicely with the light gray walls that run throughout this bungalow featured recently in At Home Arkansas.  Home owner, Donna Barnett along with her friend Kevin Walsh of Bear-Hill Interiors set out to create a space that was light, airy and bright.  I think they accomplished more that that! This home is fresh, sophisticated and fun! I love the soothing color palette, the all white kitchen and the open floor plan.  The fresh mix of colors in the bedroom are fantastic as well!!  For additional photos and to read more, click on the link, resources are listed as well.

Gray and Green Rooms

My new obsession.........gray & green rooms. I love this combination!  There's no doubt gray is the new neutral and it's popularity is not wavering.  Gray seems to be the new go-to wall color and shades of green are popping up everywhere.  Green is refreshing and can add a crispness to the room.  Check out the interiors below, the accents pop in brighter shades of chartreuse and lime green.  But after seeing the living room designed by Marika Meyer, I have to admit, I love the duo in paler shades as well!!

A Calming Lakeside Lodge

It's been a while since my last post and in the interim it has been hectic with the holidays. Now that they are over and 2014 is here, I am once again making an effort to de-stress my life as best I can.  My new year's resolution is to actually try to stick to my new year's resolution, best summed up with this:

I recently ran across this lakeside lodge, featured in At Home in Arkansas and love the calming and peaceful interiors.  I can't imagine feeling stressed in this house!  The family wanted a home that was "comfortable, approachable and not too decorated" and designer Heather Chadduck set out to do just that!  I love the soft color palette of green, gray, white and pale blue as well as the soft paint colors by Sherwin Williams.  Take a look at the photos below, the guest house is my favorite!!!

HGTV's Dream Home 2014

HGTV just revealed its 2014 Dream Home!  Located in Lake Tahoe, this modern mountain home has much to offer its lucky winner.  I love the architecture, open floor plan and, of course, all the Ethan Allen furnishings!! The interiors feature many of my Ethan Allen favorites. Can you spot the Parker chair, Meyer coffee table, Barrett bed and Corrine chairs?? Check out the living room and dining room......I love all the windows and the drama the black paint (Sherwin Williams Black Fox SW 7020) adds to the space! To see more gorgeous photos go to HGTV's official page.  And don't forget to enter to win, the sweepstakes open on December 27th.  Good luck!!
