A Peachy Pink

Pink is a great color to incorporate into your home but remember pink is not limited to little girls' rooms.   I particularly like to use pinks with a peachy hue over those that are cooler in tone.  When decorating with these shades, the light seems to cast a warm glow all around the space.  Check out the rooms below, wouldn't you agree they all radiate a warmth and a glow??

The Color Red

Red, more than any other color, impacts our senses and emotions.  The color is known to raise both blood pressure and heart rate.  Over time, the color red became associated with love, passion, courage and strength.  But in Western cultures red can also represents anger, aggression, danger and evil.  Expressions like "caught red-handed" and "in the red" have negative connotations.  I always suggest limiting the use of red in bedrooms, it's too high energy of a color to use in a place of rest.  But that is not necessarily the case in other rooms.   In honor of Valentine's Day, I've included some photos of rooms that showcase the color red........what do you think of these vibrant spaces??

Happy Valentine's Day!!

A Little More Teal

A few posts ago was all about the color TEAL and last month I did a post featuring a kitchen by Benjamin Dhong.  Well I discovered another kitchen designed by Benjamin and though it could have been included in both posts, so I am sharing it now.  I keep thinking one day I'll paint my kitchen cabinets blue... I love how it looks in this kitchen!  It's a warm blue with a hint of green.

My guess is that the cabinet color was custom, but I think this
color would work just as well.

Cute Side Table

I am constantly perusing the internet in search of product ideas for clients and I can't tell you how many times I've come across these cute side tables.  Now that I am looking for the source, I can't seem to find them!  WS Home rings a bell...but no luck there.  Perhaps they are no longer available.  If someone finds the source, email me and let me know.  Thanks!

A Touch of Teal

Over the years I have worked with many clients to bring color into their homes.  Interestingly I've noticed that most clients fall into one of two groups.  One group are clients who love the color blue and therefore have very little green in their homes.  The other group are those who love the color green and have very little blue in their homes.   In a few of those cases I have been able to introduce TEAL into their interiors.  Teal, a soothing mix of green and blue can run from low to high saturation.  The color is said to have gotten its name from the freshwater Common Teal, a duck which breeds in temperate climates and is known for its distinguished dark teal color around it's eyes.  The color is as gorgeous in nature as it is on walls..........at least I think so.  :)
