Tobi Farley's work has been featured in Traditional Home, House Beautiful, Veranda and host of other shelter magazine. Her designs are always fresh and fun. I like how she takes traditional pieces and interjects pops of color for an elegant and modern twist. Take a look at the rooms below. I love the mix of turquoise and red in the family room. The colors flow effortlessly into the dining room and breakfast nook with pops of red as well. Color Does Change Everything!
Check out this home located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida designed by Andrew Howard. I love his use of patterns and textures. The bright patterns whether on the furnishings or the walls, are complimented by his great choice of paint colors!! The ceiling often makes the room! I love the dining room and playroom ceilings, as well as his bold color choice for trim in the girl's bedroom. For a full list of paint colors used, read the article that was featured in Southern Living, it has additional photos and resources too!

On My Wishlist...
more time! Where does the time go? Months are flying by and I don't seem to get to the things on my to do list that have anything to do with me! These things I've relegated to the bottom of the list. I am tired of the usual list that is chock full of errands and chores. I need to start making a to do list that includes things like..... relaxing more, catching up on past episodes of Downton Abbey, curling up on the sofa and reading a book, taking a nap.......oh the list could go on and on. So while I am dreaming, I might as well dream of relaxing in this great space designed by Sarah Richardson. What's not to like about every nook and cranny of this well designed space? I love the soothing color palette, neutral upholstery and gold accents! The kitchen is great too, I like how the mirror below the kitchen counter really opens up the space. Check out the stunning photos below while I add to my to do list...................set up the DVR for Sarah's show on HGTV!
The paint used is Eyelet by Sarah Richardson available at Loews. But I think it's only sold in Canada.

City Apartment?
My daughter just graduated and is planning to move into the city soon. So for the last several months we have been busy decorating her imaginary apartment. She would like it to be young, fun and classic. No matter where you look these days, the market is a sea of gray upholstery. And while we both love gray, I suggested we save it for the walls and use some color on the furniture. The room's inspiration started with a classic navy blue slipper chair and tangerine zebra chair from Charish. Charish is a wonderful online resource for buying and selling vintage furniture (click on the link to visit their site). Next we've added pieces I love from Ethan Allen; the Emerson sofa, Dynasty coffee table, and Indigo Lia lamps. The miscellaneous accessories, all from Ethan Allen, complete the room!!
I am thinking if the landlord allows, we can paint the walls Benjamin Moore's Silent Night. It's a warm gray/blue that would look great with navy & orange!
