Summer Rental

The winter in the northeast was brutal and apparently while millions were snowed in they were booking vacation rentals. I must admit, I was not bright enough to think of it back in January. I've been searching for a rental in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, but everything nice is booked solid! I did come across this beautiful beach house and thought it was worth sharing. It will be on my list for next summer. Mariner's Compass is located in Pine Island Reserve and is equipped with just about everything......the oceanfront home has 11 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a pool, a theater and it's nicely decorated! Best Bunk Rooms

I came across this gorgeous bunk room designed by Tracy Hardenburg and fell in love!! What a great use of space and I love the color palette as well. Soothing colors and a mix of different textures makes this space feel light and airy considering there are sleeping accommodations for five!! A Redesigned Valentine

I was out shopping for little valentine treats to send to my daughters who are away at college and everywhere I turned were bright red hearts! Around this time of year, red dominates the seasonal aisle of most retailers. Maybe it was my mood, but I was looking for a softer, quieter and calming gift, but given my lack of time, I picked up a few bright red treats, rushed them to the post office and checked it off my to-do list! But next year, maybe I'll redesign the holiday and make time to craft some homemade treats including some pink & gray hearts. I find the subtle shades of pink and gray quite soothing. The color combination works well with interiors too. Take a look at the photos below, all of which I think are spectacular in a soothing, calming way!!!

Happy Home

I just stumbled upon this great space and had to share! The soft shades of aqua mix nicely with the light gray walls that run throughout this bungalow featured recently in At Home Arkansas. Home owner, Donna Barnett along with her friend Kevin Walsh of Bear-Hill Interiors set out to create a space that was light, airy and bright. I think they accomplished more that that! This home is fresh, sophisticated and fun! I love the soothing color palette, the all white kitchen and the open floor plan. The fresh mix of colors in the bedroom are fantastic as well!! Gray and Green Rooms

My new obsession.........gray & green rooms. I love this combination! There's no doubt gray is the new neutral and it's popularity is not wavering. Gray seems to be the new go-to wall color and shades of green are popping up everywhere. Green is refreshing and can add a crispness to the room. Check out the interiors below, the accents pop in brighter shades of chartreuse and lime green. But after seeing the living room designed by Marika Meyer, I have to admit, I love the duo in paler shades as well!!
