Mitered Design

The last couple of years I've somehow managed to incorporated mitered pillows into all of my design projects.  I love taking a striped fabric and making a great mitered pillow, they look great mixed with solid and print pillows, plus they're just fun!! You can miter the fabric to resemble a "box" or create a "cross" pattern, either way striped fabrics can make mitered pillow unique.  Here are a few examples of great mitered designs.

Spring

Spring is here and soon there will be a burst of color outdoors!! Rooms that echo the feeling of spring, showcase a variety of colors and do so best against a white backdrop.  Here are a few rooms that do just that.

HAPPY SPRING!

Color Changes Everything!!

Have you seen Target's new commercial?  I've had so many friends call to ask if I've seen their new ad campaign featuring the slogan "color changes everything"!  Here it is if you haven't seen it yet. 

I've always believed that "color changes everything".  Color affects our emotions which is why I think it's so important when selecting a wall color or introducing a color scheme into a room decor. 

 

Here are some basics:  

Red- stimulates the energy level of the room

Yellow - communicates happiness and energy (but is the most fatiguing to the eye)

Blue -   considered calming and relaxing

Green - considered the most restful to the eye, believed to reduce stress

Purple- promotes creativity

Orange- communicates enthusiasm and energy

I am thrilled Target is now advertising my blog's name!! I just googled "color changes everything" and Target and I now share the top hits!!!  Merci beaucoup!!

A New Opportunity
